DISCIPLESHIP FOR THE DEAF We have been actively involved in reaching out to the deaf, The deaf generally separate themselves, and fellowship amongst themselves. This can be due to low self esteem or fear of not fitting into the speaking congregation. This has its plus but also many minuses. In our brief interaction with the deaf, we have realized the great danger in not associating with the non-deaf. We have noticed that children born to the deaf would most likely have a number of psychological deficiencies or imbalances in a situation where any meaningful interaction is only among the deaf community. Such children end up having social and relational problems, many suffer low esteem also, and near speech and communication impediments; though not deaf. We therefore seek not just to minister to the deaf but also the children born to them, to help create the right environment and conducive community where the deaf and non deaf family members can develop a sense of belonging, security, love. And the children grow without tangible impediment. Our activities at the moment is limited due to a number of constraints; particularly financial. We are generally involved in befriending the deaf, gaining sufficient confidence for them to allow free association with the deaf community and their children. This way the non-deaf children of the deaf would have like people to interact with, fellowship with and share their deepest feelings and thoughts which are all necessary for healthy social and community growth of every individual. We also provide counselling services for the children of the deaf. |
PRAYER SCHOOL Jesus Christ taught his disciples how to pray, so why not learn it in our days .Believers world over spend a whole lot of time praying but often fail to ask the vital questions about the impact of the prayers on individual and national well being. And to know whether their lives are actually advancing as a result of their praying. Kenyans pray a lot but how effective has this praying been? It is our deep passion for effective praying and a need to raise intercessors for the nation of Kenya who will watch in prayers for the nation at all times, not just when a crisis break out; that gave birth to the prayer school.. The prayer school holds every Wednesday at the popular Aboretum Park(known for the number of people who resort there to pray). |

Christian Based Psychological Counseling This is at the heart of all our outreaches. We do not just seek to minster spiritual substance. We hold the firm belief that the mental part of man is the most important man that must be developed for the spiritual man to find any expression in the physical realm. We are developing our counseling skills by the day and continue to study, research, and improve our team members where practical and professional counseling and training is concerned. |
Young/Teenage single parenting Single parenting is not an evil but in Africa where poverty is so high, single parenting has more challenges and danger than could probably be envisaged in the more developed economy. In Kenya for instance, most young adult or teenage single mothers are having it really rough. This is highly due to the poverty; which is inevitable considering the circumstances that led to their singleness. Most young single parents in Africa became single parents as a result of unplanned pregnancy which often meant withdrawal from education, and lack of prerequisite skills or training to lead a considerable normal life. This is one of the major contributing factor to prostitution and social vices particularly among young mothers. From our findings, a number of the street girls would love to earn socially acceptable income; but for lack of the basic skills and capital are caught in the web of street trading with their bodies. We may quite argue that this reason is not valid, but we cannot underestimate the pressure and influence of a need for survival. Thus as a ministry we are committed to helping disadvantaged single mothers pick life afresh and face headlong the challenges by providing the guidance and supports needed for such to bounce back. We do encourage many to get back to acquiring professional skills; whether through the conventional education or otherwise. We also help many generate ideas and establish a credible line of income, while we give emotional and mental support to many true one on one counselling. |
